You can't say there is a shortage of tools when it comes to creating charts or diagrams, but it's a different story when it comes to convenience. SmartDraw addresses this need with its straightforward functionality and the massive amount of templates it places at your disposal. The software gives you the possibility of creating professional-looking flow charts, diagrams, forms or tables much faster and easier, which makes it a far better alternative to many productivity solutions.

SmartDraw is free to try for a limited period of time, but without any functionality restrictions. Its setup file is small and installing its components shouldn't take long, even on a slower computer. It is compatible with all modern Windows versions and it doesn't have any special requirements.

When launched, SmartDraw will place all its templates right in front of you, to help you get started. The available templates are neatly organized in a long list of categories, which can be found on the left side of the user interface. All you have to do is select a template that suits your needs and the software will take you to its chart editor right away. You can either start with a blank project or load an existing chart and modify it according to your needs.

Creating or modifying charts is quite easy. Most operations can be performed just by clicking or clicking and dragging in the main editing area. Depending on what type of project you intend to work on, the software will provide you with a wide variety of symbols and other elements, as well as options to connect and customize them.

Projects can be exported in various graphical formats, including JPEG, PNG and TIFF. You can also export them in PDF and HTML format, but more important, you can export them in MS DOC, XLS and PPT format, so they can be opened with the Microsoft Office components.
